Quito

I am now in Quito, Ecuador. It was a very rough last night in Cusco. I didn`t think I would be so upset to leave, but it really was hard. Lots of goodbyes that night because Bridgette, Matthias and Sophie were leaving also. The last week was my favourite. Went out with everyone everyday and really made the most of it. I didn`t think I would get so attached to Cusco after only 4 weeks there (2 weeks travelling) but I really loved the city and all the people I met were amazing, I will miss them the most. I was fine all night but after I said my last goodbye and started walking up Suecia I just lost it and started crying. Victoria was standing there waiting for me, then after in our room we were all just laying in our beds, Lisa informing us of her drama of the night (oh how I will miss the telenovella that is living in Cusco!) and I lost it again, worse this time and just ran into Victoria`s bed and we all just lay there, me bawling and them comforting me. It was a good last moment. I got 2 hours of sleep before having to wake up for my flight. Sophie and I were on the same flight to Lima. It was nice to have her at the airport, having someone there that understood how I was feeling, we both had another little cry together.

My last day in Cusco was absolutely perfect. Although it was rainy at first it cleared up and got sunny for awhile. Mailed a package of gifts home, then went to this restuarant with unbelievably good desserts, saw a parade, then just wandered around. Shopped a bit more but didn´t buy too much...unlike Matthias. Went back to pack after, exploded some beer in our room, then at 7:30 met everyone at the fountain and went to A La Petite France for dinner. Then to Indigo (everyone was there, it was the best time at Indigo ever) then we went to Ikuku´s for some dancing.

Yesterday was a pretty rough first day here. Got in at 1 and was soo tired from no sleep. I thought I would be living at the school like how it is in Cusco but no, the student residence is an apartment for 4 people. So I`m living in an apartment building with locals, have my own room and kitchen. Share it with a guy from Norway that goes to the school, another girl from Ontario that is here studying at the university (but shes moving out tomorrow) and a guy from the States that is here teaching english. Went to bed at 730 last night. At noon today went to the SuperMaxi for some groceries, came back heated up some tomales then watched 40year Old Virgin and Ive been on this computer slowly uploading pictures ever since.

830 tomorrow morning I head back to class.
