Another beautiful day in Peru
Cusco is absolutely beautiful! The Plaza is amazing, the cathedrals, even though its jammed packed with tourists its still amazing. Yesterday afternoon Lisa, a girl from germany in my class, went wandering around the city after we had class. First we went to lunch with 2 other girls. Had a plate full of baked potatoes basically in a curry type sauce, for about 2.5 US. Then we went into some of the smaller shops which become a maze of endless stalls with people selling virtually the same thing. Love the colours though. But I am being good about not spending or buying too much, rather save money for the rainforest and such. Did buy a pair of gloves which are a definete necessity for 8 soles. I want to barter but I just don´t have it in me, maybe it will come with time. Its freaking annoying hearing ´´hola amiga´ coming from every direction repeatedly. I am not your amiga lady. They for sure are top notch sales people. We agreed that we should make tshirts that say ´No Gracias´ and sell them in the Plaza, we reckon we can make enough to support some future travels, and branch out to other languages when they become a hit. Don´t know how easy it is to find screen printing in Cusco though, might make it difficult.
Anyway other than that just exploring and enjoying the city. Might do some rafting on Saturday but someone said its not great this time of year because the river is too dry. But on Sunday morning I am going to the Sacred Valley for a week to take my classes there. The pictures look amazing. It will be about 6 to 10 of us and 2 teachers, free activities and its slightly warmer than here which will be nice because I think I might be getting a cold, just have a bit of a sore throat. Anyway I´m off to the terrace to study, or try to.
